Growth In Balance With the Community, In Harmony With the Environment
HOW TO GET INVOLVED...

1. Talk to your friends
It's the easiest and most effective way to help! Let people know how you feel about development in Joshua Tree. Talk to your neighbors, your community group, your church group ... and tell them about JTDOG!

2. Talk to your elected officials
No resource is more important to desert development than water, and there's an important election for Joshua Basin Water District Board Members this year. There will be many opportunities to hear the candidates speak, and ask them where they stand on land use issues. The Morongo Basin Conservation Association is holding a virtual candidates forum online. Email your questions to the water board candidates to info@mbconservation.org by September 1. The Joshua Tree Community Association is hosting a candidates forum on October 14 at the JT Community Center on Sunburst. Plan to be there and hear where the candidates stand on land use issues. A new County Supervisor was elected for Joshua Tree in June. Neil Derry takes office in January 2009, and you can email him at nkder@yahoo.com.

3. Volunteer!
Can you help out at our kickoff fundraiser on September 23rd? We need volunteers to help set up the venue, tend bar and take tickets, run the sound and projector, and many other tasks. If you can help, drop us an email at info@jtdog.org. And if you're computer savvy, and know your way around Facebook, MySpace, and other social networking sites, we need you to help us raise awareness among visitors to Joshua Tree all over the world.

4. Donate!
JTDOG's programs need your financial support. Please give what you can. Soon you'll be able to contribute online, but in the meantime please send checks made out to Joshua Tree Development Oversight Group, Inc. to PO Box 824, Joshua Tree, CA 92252.
